Every expedition is three days and four cars. A hotel on the beach at Mossel Bay the afternoon before, a road most people only read about, a night under canvas with a chef and champagne, and the drive home. The only question is which mountain.

Die Hel is the one people have heard of. The Baviaanskloof is the one that is harder to get a place on. Louvain is the one nobody expects to be this good. Each has its own page, hour by hour.

We built one way of doing this and we do not vary it. The road changes. The standard does not.
The afternoon before
You arrive at a hotel on the beach at Mossel Bay, twenty minutes from George airport. Settle in, walk on the sand, and have supper at one table with the other three cars while we talk you through the mountain.
The road
Your own luxury 4×4, exactly as it was delivered, behind a lead car that is just as standard. Tyre pressures come down, the four controls you have never pressed get explained, and then the pass.
The night under canvas
The camp is standing when you arrive. A private suite per car with a king bed and an outdoor shower, champagne on ice, a chef at the fire. Then the quietest sleep you have had in years.
Four cars, then it closes
One date a month, four places, and no more. If you are flying in, one of our own cars will be waiting at the hotel.
